Five years after its release, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 continues to receive substantial support, pleasing fans worldwide. Fans may have expected the content pipeline to slow down after the release of its sister title, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, but development studio Fatshark continues to prove otherwise.
Return of the Ubersreik Five
The game recently hit a prestigious five-year anniversary and issued a celebratory toast that promised the journey was far from over. September 2022 saw the return of the boisterous Ubersreik Five in the first installment of a brand-new free campaign called A Treacherous Adventure. Now, six months later, fans can experience the thrilling conclusion of the two-part saga in an aptly named map called Tower of Treachery. This new map sees the return of some locations from the original Warhammer: Vermintide game. Including the fan-favorite campaign mission The Wizard’s Tower. Also featured in the trailer are a collection of cosmetics for each of the player characters.
The map promises to live up to its namesake with a plethora of traps and illusions littering the way, pestering players with constant thorns in the side. Fatshark also promises to deliver the toughest foe players have yet encountered in the game as fans will square off against the lore-critical character known as Sofia Fuegonasus. This name is sure to raise the eyebrows of those in the know.
Sienna’s Elusive Class Draws Closer
With the new map placing focus on Sienna’s backstory, waves of speculation have begun to wash over the more lore-literate of the game’s remarkably dedicated fanbase. Leading to a surge in conversation over the highly elusive 4th career class for playable character Sienna. Currently, Sienna remains the only playable character without a 4th career class, leaving fans chomping at the bit for more. Those hopeful in the community believe the new DLC to be something of an appetizer for the class.
A developer at Fatshark known as Aqshy stated on the Steam Community board in September of 2022 that this new update will serve as a solid foundation for the character of Sienna going forward. Playtesting for her 4th career class was also confirmed to be underway. It is currently unknown when the career class will launch. But eager fans can expect the fashionably late arrival sometime after the upcoming campaign mission update.
