As a gamer who hasn’t read many comics, The Cincinnati Comic Expo was exciting with lots to do. The expo occurred from September 22 to 24 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati Ohio. There were lots of passionate gamers, cosplayers, and even video game celebrities like Charles Martinet (the voice of Mario). Check out our full impressions and coverage below.
Highlights from the Cincinnati Comic Expo 2023
I really enjoyed talking with vendors and meeting new people who enjoy the same passion as I do. It was exciting when I saw the Pixel Empires booth, they had posters ranging from Call of Duty Zombies to Horizon Zero Dawn. It was also awesome to see all of the different vendors selling graded comics and Funko pops. I decided to get a Biohock poster and a Juggernog bottle from Call of Duty Zombies.
An Organized Event
I thought this convention was very well organized when it came to line management, unlike Anime Expo. There wasn’t a time when there were too many people like when I was at Anime Expo. I went to the Cincinnati Comic Expo convention with a press pass and with a friend who was general admission and we both were very surprised with how organized everything was. I told some friends in the area who are into comics as well as anime that they need to check it out next year. The second floor of the convention center had some video game tournaments that were open to anyone which was awesome to see. This convention really shows how inviting the Cincinnati community is.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I really appreciate the Cincinnati Comic Expo. It’s really good to see how passionate people are about gaming, comics, as well as anime even in the Midwest. If you’re in the Midwest I highly recommend checking out the event.
