Wayfinder: Grendel Teased During Tokyo Game Show

There are tons of information pouring out from Tokyo Game Show this year from games big and small. From the Nivalis to Persona 5 Tactica, there is a lot of news to get excited about. Especially when it comes to the recently released Wayfinder from Airship Syndicate. Their next Wayfinder has just been teased in a very brutal yet beautifully animated trailer. Here is what you need to know from the announcement!

New Wayfinder Announcement

The next Wayfinder will be the lion-warrior Grendel. Grendel seems as though he will be arriving with a new fiery battleaxe. His release will coincide with the games second early access Season arriving later this fall. Where you will be able to earn him through the games reward tower.

The above trailer was shown at Tokyo Game Show yesterday. It was brought to life by the creative talents of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” co-director Joaquim dos Santos. There was a fantastic showing of his grisly personality and the game director for Wayfinder had this to say about the reveal:

“The idea for Grendel dates back to the start of Wayfinder,” said Steve Madureira, Game Director. “We wanted to have a large, menacing ferocious Wayfinder that didn’t fit the mold of a typical hero. He’s also our first non-human character which we know players have been begging for. Tokyo Game Show just made sense as the perfect place to debut Grendel’s anime as Joaquim’s team is inspired and excited by any and all anime.”
