2024 is rapidly becoming one of the more interesting years in gaming. Following the absolutely stacked year of games that was 2023, we have already been treated to some amazing gems. Such as Palworld that took over the internet and earned 2.1 million concurrent players on Steam. As well as Helldivers 2 taking over the scene as a viral multiplayer game. It seems as though the gaming community has been gravitating towards more fun experiences. As opposed to the normal games seen in the AAA space. But as the year progresses, everyone will always keep wondering: What’s next? Well, that may be Kingmakers.
In a surprise reveal today by Redemption Road Games. Kingmakers has already started making the rounds and going viral. But why is that?
Why You Should Keep Your Eye on Kingmakers
The trailer uploaded by both Tinybuild and Ian from Redemption Road Games started off very plain jane. But after 20 seconds, the game became an instant surprise to me and everyone else.

The mix of medieval strategy and Third Person shooting and vehicular combat and helicopters to mow down crowds of soldiers and knights atop horses? It sounds absurd, and it seems like it is. But that is why this reveal has been taking the internet by storm. Previous big hits in this year alone were total surprises. They seemed absurd when they were announced, and they could have just become niche titles. It is safe to assume that crazy and weird will become a trend this year that this game will benefit from.
But will Kingmakers actually hit a similar level of success? Only time will tell. No one could have predicted Palworld after all.
