Cyber Manhunt 2: New World Chapter 2 Impressions

Following up on our experience from Chapter 1 in Cyber Manhunt 2: New World, Chapter 2 has to be the most thrilling so far. Not only is the story more intense, but the mechanics elevate the experience tremendously. Throughout this chapter, I do want to preface this by saying there will be very light spoilers. So, if anything from our Impressions of the Prologue and Chapter 1 sound interesting? I whole heartedly recommend giving the game a shot. Due to the fact the investigative elements are very accessible and varied. As well as only being $9.99 USD on Steam Early Access.

Chapter 2 Impressions for Cyber Manhunt 2: New World

This chapter starts off with a more intense beginning. You only have footage captured from a phone and have to use your tools from there to figure out who this person is and what all happened to her. Throughout the investigation there are many twists and turns and lies upon lies to unravel. It’s very dark and the ending of the chapter was very exhilarating. Due to the fact it kept subverting my expectations and revealed a character that I am interested to see more of.

Something else I really loved about this chapter of Cyber Manhunt 2: New World was the improved version of the Inference system. Instead of having to just guess what goes where, each option is color coded. This making it easier to figure out how to progress in the chapter.

I am unsure if the recent patch for Cyber Manhunt 2: New World changed this for the Inference system in past chapters as well. But none the less, the change is very helpful in this chapter. Outside of another website hacking, like in chapter 1. There was also this new mechanic involving hacking into cameras.

You are given only 5 minutes to track down somebody by looking at past footage and following the trail they leave. While also solving a few mini games with even more limited time. It was intense and actually very fun with a twist at the end I did not see coming.

Overall, this Chapter is the best of the experience so far. With Chapter 3, the final available chapter right now starting off on a softer note and a more natural start like the previous chapter.
