Wayfinder Is Steam Deck Verified, and The Developers are Looking into a Lobby Browser

On Wednesday, the official Twitter account for Wayfinder showcased a prototype of a lobby browser for the game. Originally, the game was an MMO that required you to sign into servers to play in a shared world with others. Now with the Echoes update that has just launched today. The game is now centered around offline play, with optional co-op. But there are also some other details that they went over.

Details on the Lobby Browser for Wayfinder

The build for the lobby browser in the game is still being worked on. So, do not expect it to be there today when you login but here is what you can expect:

  • It will be in the main menu as a separate option.
  • A list of lobbies will appear, showing the ping for each server.
  • Joining seems seamless but may require loading due to different hardware setups.

They will also be looking into random matchmaking for Wayfinder as well. While also looking into allowing players to enjoy the winter version of Skylight and Evenor. Which was only available during the holidays, and now gone with the transition from MMO to ARPG in the Echoes update. The lobby browser will allow people to enjoy the game with random people as they please. Similar to the original version of the game. But currently there are no timeframes on when players can expect this.

If you like to see a short video on the lobby browser, you can find it here.

Wayfinder will be available today for $24.99 on Steam early access. It will also be verified for the Steam Deck.
