What We Know of the Madoka Magica Mobile Game
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra is an upcoming free-to-play mobile RPG from Pokelabo, developers of SINoAlice, and F4Samurai. The game was initially announced on June 17th and has since created multiple character trailers but when it comes to full-fledged gameplay and systems, there is still a lot to discover. Here is everything we know about the game, including when it’s slated for release, and its Steam release!
Everything we Know About the Madoka Magica Mobile Game
For starters, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra is going to be releasing by the end of this year, and on Steam, Mobile devices. The game will not just be a simple retelling of the story presented in the anime or the one in Magia Record, however. It will feature an all-new story but with familiar members of the main cast, like Madoka herself, Kyoko, Mami, Sayaka and Homura. But players will be primarily controlling a new character titled “Name”.
Like most popular anime themed mobile games, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra will be a gacha game but will have various quests and story beats to go through. Currently there are no details on how all of this will work, but given similar games in the genre do offer a full-fledged story to experience, like the recently released Zenless Zone Zero, people who are worried about having to pay to progress should feel at ease. But what is the gameplay like?
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra will be a turn-based RPG, similar to something like Honkai Star Rail. Where you will have a full 3D environment to explore, and then when you encounter an enemy you will go through a traditional turn-based combat scenario with up to five characters in the party. With what seems like elemental attacks, and special abilities to use. How deep the customization remains to be seen.
Lately when it comes to mobile games, they have been getting up there with modern triple A games in terms of fidelity and gameplay systems. So Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra seems to be carrying that tradition forward, as the ultimate attacks have really flashy animation work put into them.
If you would to pre-register for the game on mobile devices, like an iPhone or Android, you can find the Google Play store page here. For PC players, the Steam page will be here to wish list it. If you follow their official X page, you can see plenty of artwork for what I believe will be cutscenes in the game.
