Kaiju Koujutsu Blitz  – Anime Expo NYC 2024

The Lords were live at the Anime NYC Convention show floor. During the convention, Lord Sonic got a closer look at Kaiji Koujutsu Blitz, a side-scrolling Action RPG. In the game, players will pilot mechs and fight kaijus.

A Closer Look at Kaiju Koujutsu Blitz

In Kaiju Koujutsu Blitz, players will assume the role of a Mercenary Mecha Pilot on the world’s bounties. They’re out to curry favor from different entities. This includes greedy corporations, mad scientists, and the criminal underworld as they all reap the planet’s resources. Most of all, battle your way through hordes of kaiju either to protect the vested interests of your employer or to harvest valuable limbs and organs of the kaijus.

Demo Impressions at Anime Expo NYC 2024

As stated above, Kaiju Koujutsu Blitz is a 2D action game powered by a JavaScript engine. Players control a large mech that can fly, jump, and shoot through various stages. The demo presented was relatively brief and still in the early stages of development, highlighting several aspects that require improvement. This includes a proper HUD, tighter controls, and the inclusion of a waypoint or mini-map. Although the developer aims to release the game on Steam, it is also accessible for play in a web browser. The developer was very eager for feedback and demonstrated a genuine passion for the game.
