Flames vs Steel – Death Battle Episode ‘Bowser vs Dr. Eggman’ Released

Many of us grew up in the early days of YouTube. I remember Red Vs Blue and Super Mario Brothers Z being replayed often on my YouTube account growing up. But one series remains to this day. DEATH BATTLE!

The series features two heavyweights from video games or pop culture, duking it out to the death using their entire move set and abilities.

Following up on their infamous Sonic vs Mario death battle a few years ago, the team released their Bowser vs Eggman episode.

The Good Doctor vs The King of Koopas – Death Battle Episode

The episode begins with the hosts, Wiz and Boomstick, breaking down what each challenger offers. Bowser has his loyal minions, raw strength, endless power-ups from the Mario series, and outright cosmic powers seen in games like Super Mario Galaxy. Meanwhile, Eggman has his iconic robotic minions at his command, alongside characters like Sonic CD’s Metal Sonic, Sonic Forces‘ Infinite, and Sonic Frontiers‘ Sage to lead the charge.

After the breakdown, we see the battle in action. To say it’s an impressive showing would be an understatement. My favorite moments have to be Metal Sonic carrying Eggman’s army and Bowser’s characterization from games like Mario & Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story being on full display.

Closing Thoughts

From someone who loves both the Sonic and Mario franchises, seeing these two legends duke it out was amazing. I loved seeing Bowser showing his raw strength throughout the entire fight, only added by the outstanding battle theme ‘Game Over’, composed by Brandon Yates and Victor Borba.
