Warframe Devshorts 40 Breakdown

2 minutes read

The second Devshorts of 2025 wrapped up earlier today on all official Warframe channels. This Devshorts episode was pretty special, as it was not only hosted by the CEO of Digital Extremes, Steve Sinclair, and the Creative Director of the game, Rebecca Ford. They were also joined by other members of the Digital Extremes team. Including Eric Preston, Adrian Bott, Kat Kingsley, Ryan Mole, Jillian and Rosanne. All members of the writing, audio and Narrative team that was also partially responsible for the romance system in Warframe: 1999.

Devshorts 40 was filled with a few teases, and confirmations of things to come. No doubt shown at the upcoming Devstream 184 on the 31st this month. Here are all of the highlights from the episode!

Considering Devstream 184 is on the way, they most answered important questions from the live stream chat:

  • They confirmed today’s hotfix would fix the Drifter faces being messed up.
  • They teased that they were working on expanding the conversation system with the Hex. This would include catching up on conversations that may have been missed by players.
  • There were hints at potential expansions for character presences. Such as Viktor, the second in command of the Scaldra.
  • They also apologized over Lavos not getting a lunar new year skin, but mentioned that he would have a presence at Devstream 184. Potentially as the next Prime warframe.
  • The RPG that is found in the Efervon Tank fight might become an official weapon.
  • More Drifter hair styles might be getting revealed at the upcoming Devstream.
  • Finally, they confirmed that The Great Despair’s background music version for the 1999 computer will become an official somachord.
