To celebrate the Blue Blur’s latest initiative, Racing Around the World, continues with a collaboration with Gameloft’s Asphalt Legends!

Racing Around the World Event – Asphalt Legends X Sonic the Hedgehog
SEGA and Gameloft break down the crossover event with the following:
Racing out of the gate on May 29th and running until June 26th, players will be able to take part in an all-new Collector Mode and race around the track to collect Sonic the Hedgehog’s iconic gold rings, complete with the trademark sound effect that has excited gamers for generations. As players compete against each other, they’ll also be treated to a multitude of iconic songs* and sound effects from the franchise, including the legendary “stage complete” jingle. Players who collect enough gold rings can also use them to purchase a number of limited-time vehicle decals based on Sonic and his friends.
Gotta Collect ‘Em All – Car Decals & More in Asphalt Legends
Players can unlock various Sonic-themed decals for legendary cars by going on time trial races. As seen from gameplay captured by Sonic Stadium below, they are high-octane races channeling the blue blur’s iconic speed.
It reminds me of games like Burnout and Need for Speed, offering fun races for players to tackle. Another highlight of the collaboration includes iconic music tracks from the franchise playing during races. Some examples include music from Sonic Frontiers.
The full list of unlockable cars is the following:
- Sonic the Hedgehog – SSC Ultimate Aero TT
- Tails – Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport
- Knuckles – Apex AP-0
- Shadow – Nissan GTR Neon
- Amy – Lamborghini Revuelto
- Dr. Eggman – Donkervoort D8 GTO Individual Series
- Chao – DS e-Tense
