Warframe: Thalys Build and Review

In Isleweaver, a brand-new Incarnon weapon arrived in Warframe. This new weapon is called the Thalys. The Thalys can be earned from using the unique currency earned in the new Duviri mission node. Most Incarnon melee weapons tend to feel like underwhelming companions when compared to their normal Incarnon gun counterparts. The Thalys surprised me by being a very fun heavy scythe with its unique passive similar to Oraxia’s signature whip, Spinnerex. In the right hands with the right build and evolutions, you too can have a great time with it!

Thalys Build in Warframe

Below will be our recommended mod setup for the Thalys, which will require at least 1 forma:

For starters, you can choose another Arcane if you do not have Duplicate. I would recommend Animosity as a substitute, especially if you get a Tennokai mod on it. This setup does not have Tennokai, and that is mostly due to the evolutions we will get to shortly. For starters, a normal critical chance and damage combination is essential for this build, with Primed Fury for faster attacks and a corrosive status effect for usage against armored foes. I combined this build with the following evolutions:

  • Dreadful Reach.
  • Adept Reflexes.
  • Swift Transmute.
  • And Explosive Growth.

Dreadful Reach greatly boosts its attack range over time, so no need to waste a slot on a Primed Reach. Adept Reflexes helps start it with a good combo counter to help get it to use the Incarnon form, which works hand-in-hand with Swift Transmute. But Explosive Growth helps the most, as it roots enemies in place and makes the shards do more damage.

This is a lot of info on paper, but how does it perform in Warframe?

Thalys Review

The Thalys is very fun to use in hectic crowds. While most would go for a Tennokai critical combo, this combination is more aimed at mowing down crowds in a very satisfying way. It will not be the strongest pick, of course, even with its Incarnon form. But it is a great pick for most activities. I can only hope that you get the most out of it, with this build, Tenno!
