5 More Warframes that Need a Rework (or Buffs)

Back in November of last year, we wrote an article talking about 5 warframes that needed a rework. Obviously, since then, there have been a few reworks or “retouches” to certain warframes. Such as Ash, Valkyr, and announced at TennoCon 2025, an upcoming rework for Oberon. Two of these were some that I personally wanted to see, but there are always more warframes that fall to the wayside.

If Digital Extremes is still planning on touching up past underperforming warframes in the near future. It bears repeating some of the ones that I listed previously (as a former Chroma main). With some that may need more urgent love and care, otherwise known as the “Pablo Touch”.

Chroma

Currently, Chroma is in a weird spot with very specific use cases that him very good. But some of his abilities still underperform and feel targeted to be subsumed, such as Spectral Scream or Effigy. While these abilities can be useful for early game missions, in the endgame, they simply feel too weak. While elemental ward and vex armor are still used widely as his main endgame focus, I feel like there should be more love and care given to him.

Loki

Loki is a special case, where his first and second abilities are great, albeit in need of buffs or changes for endgame viability. However, his third and fourth abilities feel very situational and can only be fun for the sake of fun. Considering Warframe is heading towards more traditional endgame content in the future, if the raid variant of bosses and Archimedea game modes are an indicator, Loki is in desperate need of help for endgame viability and more general usefulness.

Rhino (No, Really)

Most people pick up Rhino from the various warframes on offer due to his tankiness from Iron Skin and the damage buffs from his Roar ability. But both his first and fourth abilities could really use a general rework to change how they work. Obviously, they fit the theme of the frame very well, and his fourth ability is funny to watch in motion. However, when it comes down to Rhino in general, he feels mostly viable for just two out of four of his abilities, similar to the other two listed above.

Limbo

I am not going to try and rob the dapper gentlemen of the Warframe playerbase of their ability to tip hats, create rifts, and freeze enemies in place. In fact, I get it, it’s form and function for a lot of activities in the game. But Limbo is way too situational and invasive. I think while Cataclysm is great to mix with stasis, his general Banish and Rift Surge abilities could have more passive play in place, with some friction removed from the kit in general to ensure he is not messing with other players who get stuck in rifts unknowingly.

Banshee

Following a trend for endgame content viability, Banshee is really good for crowd control and weak spot exposure with her second and fourth abilities. But Sonic Boom and Silence could really use an overhaul or a general rework for how they work.
