It has been over 3 months since Digital Extremes hosted one of its usual Devstreams. Of course, TennoCon 2025 blew the lid off all the content they were working on for the rest of the year. With The Old Peace closing out the year, Digital Extremes wanted to focus on the next update for now, which was broken down in full during the stream. From Ordis’ voice actor being changed for the future, to the reveal of the upcoming mushroom warframe, here is everything from Devstream 189!

Out with the Old Ordis and in with the New
One of the most notable bits of news from Devstream 189 was the announcement that Mike Leathum, the voice actor for Ordis, is retiring, and Kevin Lim, the voice of Bombastine from The Duviri Paradox, will be taking his place for the foreseeable future. This is, of course, sad news, as Ordis is an iconic character for Warframe. Seeing as Mike has voiced the character for many, many years through story beats, seasonal updates, and everything in between (and being there for the Tenno when the Lotus disappeared), he has earned his rest and will be missed in the years to come.
Kevin Lim has done a lot for Warframe since Duviri. He was not only the presenter twice over, between the in-game relay event for the gameplay demo, but the presenter for Warframe: 1999, as the first voice heard in that gameplay demo as well. Moving from being a presenter, so to speak, to the player character’s companion is going to be big shoes to fill. Kevin also helped James Conlin become the voice actor of Ollie in Warframe: 1999, which you can learn the full story about in our exclusive interview from TennoCon 2023 here.
Details on the Upcoming Oberon Rework in Warframe
As we all know, Oberon has fallen to the wayside and is soon to be given a new lease on life. His rework is robust and feels like a breath of fresh air, even though some of it smells like Hydroid and Revenant. For starters, both versions of him, normal and prime, will be given 200 more armor. In addition to this, he will be given a new passive. This passive will give a “Righteous Negation charge,” which will act like Mesmer Skin from Revenant. You can have 3 charges max, which will apply to your teammates.

His abilities are getting a massive overhaul; his Smite will now fully strip all armor and overguard off an enemy and deal damage that scales with what was stripped. Hallowed Ground will now spawn as a circle as opposed to a cone. His Renewal will now apply healing and armor at the same time. The effects are doubled in Hallowed Ground, and the armor scales with his current amount. Finally, Reckoning will now scale with radiation stacks on a target and give Oberon more armor. Parts of the rework feel like Hydroids from 2023.
Pablo Alonso, the Design Director for Warframe, released an in-depth video detailing the rework below:
When the fall update launches next month, all players will be given a free copy of Oberon and a free forma if they log in during the launch week. Speaking of that update.
The Fall Update Launches October 15th
The unannounced fall update from TennoCon 2025 has finally been announced. The fall update will be called “The Vallis Undermind.” This will bring to Warframe a slew of new content and changes to enjoy. Such as the 62nd warframe, Nokko, the very subtly hinted “fun guy” mushroom-themed frame.

Nokko will feature a slew of fun projectile-based abilities and mushroom companions to fight alongside him. In the Devstream below, you can find an instant showcase of his abilities.
Nokko is going to be an interesting new addition to the game. Especially considering he is Yareli’s younger brother, as mentioned on stream. He will have unique idle animations where Yareli will do a little dance with him. As well as a new Archgun that will be status-based. While a new Archgun may sound disappointing, Digital Extremes is adding a way to make them more interesting. The way they are doing it is by making it so you can equip both Primary and Secondary Arcanes in the mod menu. How you unlock the Arcane slots will be through the newest vendor, Nightcap.
Nightcap and The Teacher in Warframe
Nightcap will be the vendor for acquiring Nokko and his Archgun Arbucep. As with all recent updates, you can either acquire both through gameplay and acquiring a new currency to spend on what you do not have yet, or instantly buy both with platinum, the premium currency in Warframe. Nightcap will also feature a whole array of plant decorations for those who want to bring the vibes of the great outdoors to their base of operations.

Also included in The Vallis Undermind is the newest cinematic quest for the mod system called “The Teacher”. This will put Teshin center stage as he walks players through the modding system and how it works, which is a very needed explanation!
The Reveal of Roathe, the Uriel Protoframe
As we learned during TennoCon 2025. There will be a new side quest in The Old Peace involving Albrecht Entrati named “The Devil’s Triad”. This will be a quest involving three new Protoframes. Lyon, the Harrow Protoframe, Marie the Wisp Protoframe (that has already stolen my heart, sorry Aoi), and Roathe, the Protoframe for the next Warframe coming in The Old Peace called Uriel.

Roathe will be voiced by René Zagger, the voice of Emet-Selch in Final Fantasy 14. Roathe will be the first-ever Orokin Protoframe as well. His line delivery in the trailer below is as chilling as the words themselves.
Nights of Naberus and Nintendo Switch 2 News
Nights of Naberus is returning on October 1st and will feature a slew of new cosmetics to enjoy alongside previous rewards. If you are looking to max out your reputation with The Family on Deimos, this is the ideal event to take advantage of to achieve your goals and get some cool cosmetics along the way.
Also, for some strange reason, Baro Ki’teer will be changing both in form and in offers from October 17th to November 9th. I guess no one is safe from the Indifference?
Finally, Digital Extremes has confirmed that they have devkits for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Warframe. This means that when it is ready, owners of the console will finally have a proper version of the game to play on Nintendo’s latest device. No details on the availability of the Nintendo Switch 2 are available at this time.
Devstream 189 was filled with a lot of exciting content to show off. There is also a round of new Tennogen items. As well as a new Wukong Deluxe skin and Lavos Deluxe coming with The Vallis Undermind.
