Earlier today, both companies announced new updates that bring Xbox Game Pass benefits into Discord Nitro while also making it easier for players to discover and jump directly into Game Pass titles from Discord itself.

From Discord’s team, the announcement reads, “Nitro members now get access to a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass, including a library of 50+ PC and console games you can download and play anytime you want. Your Nitro membership is still the same price, and Game Pass is now part of it.”
The biggest takeaway here is that Discord users are getting great value through this deal.
Eligible Discord users subscribed through Distro Nitro will now receive Xbox Game Pass benefits, alongside easier access to Game Pass titles directly from Discord. Based on the announcement, this appears to include cloud gaming functionality along with access to a curated catalog of games. If that is the case, this is actually a pretty strong value proposition.
You are essentially getting the communication platform people already use every day, combined with access to online gaming and a selection of playable titles bundled into the same ecosystem. - Automatically applied Discord Shop discounts
Admittedly, these benefits are less exciting.
They are still benefits, and discounts are always nice, but compared to potentially getting access to Game Pass and online functionality through Discord, the Nitro perks for Xbox users do not quite hit with the same energy. Something like additional streaming perks or even Discord boosts may have felt more immediately impactful for everyday users.
Still, it is another example of Xbox continuing to push toward ecosystem integration rather than treating services like isolated platforms.
