At the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft showed off a lot of amazing game trailers for upcoming titles. Whether you are a Gears or even Spyro (believe it or not), you’ve got something at this showcase. But something I have been personally excited for 6, now going on 7 (don’t hurt me) years, as it is slated to launch on February 23rd, is Fable. The reboot has been shown for many years and just recently got a new trailer dedicated to the intricacies of the Heroes in the story, and even a surprising reveal at the end of the trailer, Jack of Blades, from the original game.

The Takeaways from the New Fable Trailer
The new trailer for Fable at the Xbox Games Showcase was more cinematics than gameplay. Playground did confirm that a new gameplay reveal would take place on Wednesday this week, however. The trailer itself focused on the alignment that the Heroes in the story play by. Anyone who has played the original games will know that a Hero in the game will not just be a good guy. There were some snippets of gameplay and a monologue of what can be presumed as the main villain, named Isabel, and even Demon Doors (finally!) But one particular reveal whipped the internet into a frenzy. The original villain of Fable 1, Jack of Blades, is making a return with an incredibly faithful design.
The game’s official website also showed that there will be post-launch DLC. The DLC is named “Order of the Hero,” and the webpage describes it as:
Write the next chapter of your legend in Fable: Order of the Hero, a story‑driven expansion (coming post-launch) that draws you into the secrets of a dark, ancient cult hidden deep within the perilous beauty of Albion. *
Fable: Order of the Hero features a brand-new region that brims with danger, wonder, and whispers of long buried power. As you explore, your deeds earn the cultist’s admiration, and you rise to become their latest (and greatest) celebrity overseer.

They also opened preorders for the game today as well. With a normal $69.99 USD base game, $99.99 USD premium edition, and a $199.99 USD collectors edition. All preordered editions include a chicken outfit. The premium edition comes with some extra goodies, including 5 days of early access, and the collectors edition includes an amazing Jack of Blades statue and guild seal pin alongside a steelbook. You can find the page for that here.
