The Gears 5 technical test is right around the corner. So what does the test entail and how can you join?
Gears 5 will be running two technical tests on starting on July 19th through the 22nd. The second test will run from July 26th through the 29th. However, you will be able to download the test starting on July 17th which will run approximately 15GB. You can participate in the technical test if you are a subscriber to Gamepass Ultimate or if you have already pre-ordered Gears 5. The pre-order requires to be the digital version from the Xbox Store, so physical pre-orders will not get access.
What Is Playable During the Tech Test:
- Arcade: A new approachable, frenetic Versus experience.
- Escalation: The pinnacle objective mode of Gears is back and better than ever.
- King of the Hill: Capture the hill, enjoy the carnage.
Like any technical test, the ultimate reason to hold one is to stress test your servers. What this means is the developer will be able to see what areas need improvement upon the launch of the game. The Gears series has been a long-standing favorite for multiplayer fans, even spurning a pro-league dedicated to the franchise.
