Inside Xbox: The Ascent
Earlier today, during the Inside Xbox presentation plenty of games were shown off. One of those games included in the show was The Ascent. An action RPG that takes players to a huge metropolis that houses plenty of amazing aliens controlled by The Ascent Group. Players will find themselves in the city as services and more begin to mysteriously shut down.
Your goal in the game is to discover what happened and why everything has shut down. Plenty of chaos has started to cause problems for those living in your district. Neon Giant is a small studio that is looking to create a great experience for gamers on the Xbox Series X. Watch the trailer for The Ascent below.
As you can see from the reveal trailer, the game is a top-down shooter like the classic game Smash TV, just with insanely better graphics. With the power of these new consoles, expect some amazing things to happen. For instance, when your playing every gunfight will leave a permanent mark on buildings and other locations that you visit. Visually, the trailer really gives off some strong cyberpunk vibes. Jack Gosling, Senior Digital Marketing Manager at Curve Digital, had this to say about the game.
“One of the things that sets The Ascent apart from the crowd is the way it blends its cyberpunk elements with more traditional sci-fi tropes. Near-future humans mix with outlandish aliens in densely packed cities where anything is possible.”
