Even though the official Hot Chips 2020 presentation of Xbox Series X architecture is scheduled for later today most of the slides from this presentation have already leaked online. The slides focus on the Xbox Series X SoC (system on the chip) and the new technologies that come with it.
As per the slides below, the Xbox Series X chip is a massive upgrade over Xbox One X shipping with more than double the number of transistors ( 6.6 billion to 15.4 billion) which have been packed on a 360.4 mm2. It also comes as no surprise that the GPU part takes most of the space on SoC. The slides also provide very detailed information on new technologies such as Variable Rate Shading, Velocity Architecture, and Ray Tracing.
We still don’t have the full info on what will be discussed during today’s Hot Chips 2020 presentation, but we will cover it tomorrow once new information becomes available. For now, please enjoy each of the individual slides that have been leaked so far below.
