All The Armor Classes, or “Shells”, in Mortal Shell
Armor Classes
Mortal Shell is a brand new Souls-like title made by Cold Symmetry and published by PlayStack London. In any game that imitates Dark Souls, knowing your gear is crucial to how you will survive. Having a proper build that suits your playstyle is essential in providing a quality gameplay experience. In Mortal Shell, things are a little bit different. There are items and equipment to use, but in regards to armor and classes, this aspect all revolves around Shells. Here is everything you need to know about the Shells currently in the game, including stats and abilities. Abilities break down into two sections dubbed Accretions and Recollections. Accretions are unique to each shell, and Recollections are the same across all four Shells. Now, let’s take a look at the armor classes!
Harros, The Vassal
Harros, The Vassal, is the shell that you will obtain first. This is the most evenly balanced among the four available Shells for stats.
- Accretion of Yearning – Adds a chance for enemies to drop an additional glimpse on death.
- Accretion of Foresight – Gaining a glimpse has a chance to restore some health.
- Accretion of Dominance – For a short time after hardening, enemies killed have a chance to drop an additional glimpse.
- Accretion of Resolve – harden cooldown is reduced by 25%
- Accretion of Endurance – Hardening causes Harros’s stamina to rapidly refill.
- Accretion of Ascent – Killing two enemies in quick succession resets your harden cooldown.
- Accretion of Inheritence – hardening lasts for twice as long upon being broken.
- Recollection of Death – Regain last chance upon defeating enough foes.
- Recollection of Knowledge – Harden in the air to create a devastating area of impact upon landing. Foes killed by the blast may drop an additional glimpse.
- Recollection of Strength – Put your enemies off balance with a powerful kick.
Solomon, The Scholar
Solomon excels in providing a continuous supply of resolve to use in combat. Resolve is for special abilities and the parry ability that allows you to heal. All shells have resolve, but this one focuses the most in this area. This armor is best for uncovering lore the quickest.
- Accretion of Yearning – When talking to an NPC, Solomon gains a segment of resolve.
- Accretion of Foresight – Solomon becomes familiar with items more quickly and gains a glimpse on reading lore for the first time.
- Accretion of Dominance – The duration of time enemies remain hardened when you are separated from Solomon is increased.
- Accretion of Resolve – When holding a sacred gland Solomon gains 25 maximum health, when not holding a gland Solomon gains one maximum resolve segment.
- Accretion of Endurance – Solomon has a chance to heal on using a weapon ability to slay an enemy.
- Accretion of Ascent – Killing an enemy with an empowered riposte has a chance to restore all resolve.
- Accretion of Inheritance – Solomon gains a small amount of resolve when being struck while hardened.
Eredrim, The Venerable
Eredrim, The Venerable, is the tanking class of all the shells. Donned in shining armor, this knight is ready to take on the toughest of enemies at the expense of stamina and resolve.
- Accretion of Yearning – Eredrim is occasionally able to resist being knocked down.
- Accretion of Foresight – On kill, Eredrim gains a buff, which reduces damage taken by 5% for 10 seconds.
- Accretion of Dominance -Upon reclaiming Eredrim your next attack will deal massive damage, sometimes exploding your enemies into a bloody mist.
- Accretion of Resolve – Eredrim gains an execution stack upon killing an enemy, each stack increases base attack damage. Stacks are lost when separating from Eredrim.
- Accretion of Endurance – Eredrim’s max HP is increased by 15%
- Accretion of Ascent – Eredrim’s attacks deal additional poise damage, causing enemies to stagger more frequently.
- Accretion of Inheritance – Eredrim deals extra damage against enemies who are alone.
Tiel, The Acolyte
Tiel, The Acolyte, is the most agile of the four shells. Low on health and resolve but boasts a large stamina pool, this shell moves around quickly in combat with its dodge mechanic. Unlike the other shells, Tiel’s dodge is a quick vanish of smoke, allowing for a faster dodge and longer I-frames (invincibility frames). Tiel also has the benefit of being able to heal from poison.
- Accretion of Yearning – Taking poison damage heals Tiel for a portion of the damage which would have been dealt.
- Accretion of Foresight – On Empowered Riposte, Tiel will sometimes release a poisonous cloud.
- Accretion of Dominance -On killing an enemy, Tiel gains a buff which poisons enemies on hit. Lose this buff when you are hit.
- Accretion of Resolve – Sprinting doesn’t consume Tiel’s stamina.
- Accretion of Endurance – Gain a damage bonus when low on stamina.
- Accretion of Ascent -Tiel gains a 20% chance to lose stamina instead of health on taking damage.
- Accretion of Inheritance – Striking a poisoned enemy increases the chances Tiel’s other passives will trigger.
