Metro Exodus Will Be Getting A Free Next Generation Upgrade
Metro Exodus was a massive step forward for 4A Games when it released in February of 2019. While the Metro franchise had long been a beloved cult classic, amongst FPS fans. Metro Exodus really blew open the door for new fans and returning fans. From the game’s incredible FPS mechanics which had been polished to perfection, or the jaw-dropping visuals. Add on one of the best story’s in the franchise’s history, and you have a recipe for an incredible game. I would highly recommend playing Metro Exodus if you haven’t, however, after the news released today. You might just want to put that playthrough off just a little bit longer.
In a blog post celebrating the franchise’s 10th anniversary, 4A Games revealed some interesting next-generation details for Metro Exodus. The first and most notable is that Metro Exodus will be getting an upgrade patch to take advantage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X’s powerful hardware. This patch will reportedly bring better frame rates, reduced load times, increased resolution, and ray tracing. Metro Exodus was already an incredibly beautiful game, with all these upgrades it will truly shine. However, one of the best parts about this announcement is the price of this upgrade. If you already own the game on Xbox or PlayStation, both physical and digital owners will have access to this patch free of charge. With some publishers and developers charging for these next-generation updates, I tip my hat to 4A Games for taking this player first approach.
