Acquisition season seems to continue this close to the holidays and it appears Tencent is back for blood. As it was just announced that Turtle Rock Studios, creators of Left 4 Dead, Evolve, and Back 4 Blood is their latest acquisition.

Tencent has been on a roll recently, as they’ve purchased Sumo Digital, creators of Sack Boy: A Big Adventure. As well as the parent company for Digital Extremes, known for Warframe. But what does this mean for Turtle Rock Studios? Well, if it’s anything like their previous purchases, nothing will really change. It will be “business as usual” as Riot Games is operating and flourishing under Tencent. Having a huge new game in Valorant and more projects on the way. So this is no real cause for alarm at the moment.
The Left 4 Dead studio has seen success with their recent game Back 4 Blood so it will be interesting to see where this acquisition takes them.
