Destiny 2: Lightfall launched one week ago. Since then, guardians everywhere grind their experience and power level in anticipation of the new raid. Bungie announced further info surrounding the Lightfall raid race. This includes a partnership with Twitch Rivals and new Twitch drops.

World First

The Root of Nightmares is the new raid to debut this Friday, March 10. An ancient threat resurfaces, threatening the denizens of Sol. Additionally, viewers can tune in through Twitch Rivals beginning at 9 am PST (the raid launch time).

An emblem is awarded for watching the Twitch Rivals stream for two hours during the race. Be sure to have your Bungie.net account linked with your twitch account. Furthermore, a separate emblem can be earned through other streams with drops enabled during the Lightfall raid race. Once again, you must watch two hours of the stream.

Overcome the Nightmare

Guardians brave enough to enter the raid this Friday will experience Contest Mode. Contest Mode is active for the first forty-eight hours (the length of the World First race). Subsequently, players are placed twenty power below each encounter during this time. Meanwhile, the maximum power level for Contest Mode is 1780 regardless of how high you are beforehand. The fireteam who completes the final encounter, loots the chest, and returns to orbit will be the World First victor. Each guardian of the fireteam will receive a World First title belt.

Completing the Root of Nightmares raid while Contest Mode is active will earn you a unique emblem. A separate emblem is awarded for finishing the Lightfall raid race after the forty-eight-hour period. Additionally, an exclusive jacket associated with the raid will become available for purchase if completed before March 21. Lastly, an associated raid pin can be purchased throughout the Season of Defiance after finishing the raid. Good luck to every fireteam this Friday. Eyes up, Guardian.
