Xbox Showcase 2023: Still Wakes The Deep Coming To Game Pass At Launch
The last few months have been a rollercoaster ride for the Xbox platform. Everything from the CMA blocking the Activision Blizzard deal, to some questioning Xbox leadership after the Redfall debacle, to the EU breathing life again into the ABK acquisition after approving it. Needless to say, if you’re an Xbox fan, recent times were turbulent to put it lightly. But now, we are in the midst of the much-beloved summer gaming convention season.
To say this year’s Xbox showcase is highly anticipated is an understatement. Fans are through the roof with hype and anticipation. This year’s Xbox Showcase promises to deliver to fans what they’ve been longing for, quality first-party games. Best of all, the Showcase is already confirmed that it will not feature any full CGI trailers. During the Xbox Showcase, fans got a glimpse of Still Wakes The Deep.
From the press release, “Still Wakes The Deep is a first-person narrative horror from The Chinese Room, creator of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and Dear Esther.” . . . “You are an off-shore oil rig worker, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. All that remains is to face the unknowable horror that’s come aboard. Search for your crew and help them survive if you can. Run, climb, and swim through the flooding corridors and storm-lashed outer decks. Face a terrifying, unrelenting foe. And pray that, one day, you get to see your family again.“
Still Wakes the Deep will launch in Game Pass on day one when it releases in early 2024.
