Breaking: Xbox Mid-Gen Refresh and Next-Gen Console Leaked

In an unintentional leak from Microsoft themselves during their ongoing court battles, sensitive documentation from Xbox has leaked. This documentation included information regarding the mid-generation refresh for the current Xbox Series X. As well as information on the next-generation Xbox console. Here is everything we learned from the leaked documents you can find here.

Mid-Generation Refresh Xbox and New Controller

The mid-generation refresh version of the Xbox Series X will include the following:

• All Digital.
• 2TB of Storage.
• New USB-C port at the front of the console.
• Price point is going to be $499.99.

Next up is an all-new controller which will include the following:

• Rechargeable and Swappable battery.
• Haptic Feedback that includes speakers.
• Quiter buttons and thumbsticks.
• Price point of $69.99.

In these same leaked documents it was shown that the original Xbox Series S would be marked down to $199 leaving only the recently released $349 1TB Xbox Series S in the market next to the original Xbox Series X and mid-generation refresh.

Alongside these leaks also included the new Xbox console for the 10th generation of consoles with some interesting choices.

10th Generation Console Information and Bethesda Titles

The next generation of Xbox will start in 2028 we learned from these documents. This will include a Zen6 CPU and Navi5 GPU. But what has caused some interesting discussion online is a focus on “Cloud Hybrid Games” and an “Immersive Games and App Store”. Xbox has invested heavily into cloud gaming as part of their platform and has a cloud gaming division. This could indicate that the Cloud Hybrid games will leverage cloud computing to do some heavy lifting within games. But that comes at the cost of an only online console to make these games work. Whether or not the world is ready for these types of games is still up for debate for now.

The last bit of leaks we found in the documents was a whole slew of leaked upcoming Bethesda games. Below is the full list of games:

Obviously people are excited for announcements of games, but to the Microsoft Gaming division, this is going to take a lot of wind out of the sails for those announcements. Especially when the release windows are spelt out for the public. But this is all we learned from the leaked documentation. Keep in mind all of this is still in flux and can change over time, even the cloud hybrid games.
