PAX East 2024: Alpha Takahashi to Guest Star in Warframe: 1999
Digital Extremes had a massive presence at this year’s PAX East. They took over the main event theatre for an hour and a half to talk about all things Warframe. Including a newer teaser trailer for Warframe: 1999. It was a short trailer but it got the tone of the upcoming expansion across well. While also showing off Arthur’s companion Aoi in a very breathtaking trailer. But one of the things that made this trailer stand out was the news that Alpha Takahashi, the voice actress of Hanako Arasaka will be voice acting Aoi.
Details on Aoi from Warframe: 1999
Alpha Takahashi lending her voice to Aoi in Warframe: 1999 will not give two immensely talented actors to the expansion. As Arthur, the main character, will be voiced by Ben Starr. Who is famous for his performance as Clive from Final Fantasy 16. In the trailer, Arthur was just spinning sword on the ground in a slow panning shot before asking “So, you comin’ Aoi?” With Aoi responding simply with, “It’s a party, Arthur, of course not.” Before crushing a metallic origami bird with her Mag powers.
The performances from both, while only one line from each gave off such a serious and gritty tone for the overall tone of the expansion. They were both sitting on a motorcycle that was called the “Atomicycle”. Which was described as being a very important part of the expansion. It may be a new vehicle that will be used only in either the story or in the general content of Warframe: 1999. Digital Extremes also clarified that both Aoi and Arthur are “Proto-Warframes”. Implying that they are the progenitors to warframe’s. But as far as more plot details are concerned. We only have what we know from Whispers in the Walls to go off of. As well as news that the full reveal of the expansion will be at TennoCon 2024 this year.
