Obsidian Accidentally Leaked The Release Date for Avowed
Yesterday, the official Xbox Podcast hosted Carrie Patel, Game Director on Avowed to go in depth on its gameplay. This deep dive lasted for about 27 minutes and showcased what everyone can expect to experience in the game. From its deep RPG systems, to thrilling combat systems, the reveal of an optional third person camera mode and companions. They really showed off many reasons to look forward to this new entry in the Pillars of Eternity universe. But, for when you can expect to play Avowed, well, at the recent Xbox Games Showcase, they only gave it an official release window for the back half of this year. However, Obsidian themselves may have leaked this release date.
The Leaked Release Date for Avowed
Obsidian released an official web page for the story trailer for Avowed on their website. Going over some of the details, and accidentally slipped up and put the game’s release date on this same page. That being November 12th, it has since been removed but Wario64 on Twitter did document the changes below:
Very weird. They immediately removed the Avowed release date after I posted this. Before and after pics attached. pic.twitter.com/vfH9QVlwzo

While this does suck for Obsidian, as I am sure there were plans for a more exciting presentation of Avowed before announcing the release date. It is unfortunately out there and does come off the heels of a leaked release date for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. Which I am sure also disheartened those developers as well. Release dates have been in a constant flux in recent years, so this release date may only be an estimate on Obsidians end, so please keep that in mind.
You can find the official store pages for Avowed on Steam here, and Xbox here. It will also be releasing in Xbox Game Pass Day one.
