Octopath Traveler 1 Rated for PlayStation 4|5, and Octopath Traveler 2 Slated for Xbox Series X|S this Month

One of Lords of Gaming’s first 10/10’s in years, Octopath Traveler 2 released last year. Earning critical acclaim and universal praise from players across PlayStation, Nintendo and Steam. By the time June came around, Square Enix proudly touted that it had sold over a million copies. But the game, unlike its predecessor, never came to Xbox at launch. Leaving the fanbase it found on there, confused until Tokyo Game Show later that year, where it was announced to launch in “Early 2024“. However, even with this news, PlayStation fans are still left without the original title. At least, not for much longer, as a rumor from Exputer, and a new rating for the game’s indicate they will be launching soon.

Details on Octopath Traveler 1 for PlayStation and 2 for Xbox

A rumor from Exputer a few days ago indicated that Octopath Traveler 2 would be slated to launch this month, and also launch on Xbox Game Pass, similar to its predecessor in 2021. But why has it taken this long for the game to launch on Xbox? Well, in their recent fiscal year report, Square Enix has talked about wanting to be fully multiplatform as a publisher. So, despite the second game being on PlayStation day one. PlayStation gamers did not receive the original, and with Xbox vice versa. A very confusing outcome, but one that is going to be rectified soon. Considering the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has revealed Octopath Traveler 1 will be launching on PlayStation soon.
