Yesterday, Square Enix announced that Octopath Traveler 2 has sold a million copies since its launch. That would make this sequel to the critically acclaimed Octopath Traveler one of the better-selling games from the publisher over the last few years. This news comes from a Twitter post from Square Enix themselves that says:

Octopath Traveler 2 is Lords of Gaming’s first 10/10-rated game in years. As it not only directly improved upon the formula of the original game. But added so many more elements to the game’s narrative, and gameplay. Like choices that can be made in each playthrough and an ending chapter was so masterfully crafted. As well as Latent Powers for each character and unique unlockable abilities.

Octopath Traveler 2 is now the third 2D-HD game to sell a million. As Triangle Strategy sold a million by year’s end last year. With the original surpassing three million by the fall of last year. The only title from the 2D-HD family to not sell a million yet is Live A Live. But as it has recently launched on Steam and the PlayStation platform. It should be expected to catch up with its brethren.

The game is available right now on the Nintendo Switch, Steam, and PlayStation 4|5 for $59.99. If you would like to read our full review, you can do so here.
