During the devstream double bill today, Digital Extremes had a very lengthy, and emotional Devstream 182 for Warframe. It had a little bit of everything for the game’s community to look forward to. But spent time honoring the legacy of someone who was pivotal to the game’s creation. From a deep dive into the Technocyte Coda, a new mission, and the next prime warframe, here is everything from Devstream 182.

The Mourning of Michael Mynki Brennan

The beginning of the Devstream included the team mourning Michael Brennan. One of the most instrumental people who worked on Warframe since the beginning. They showed off so much of his work from the beginning of the game, such as concepting the first prime variants of warframes, Excalibur Prime. All the way to the making of Hildryn Prime, the Heirloom skins and his work on the Man in the Wall faction, and even the Technocyte Coda which will be discussed later. May he rest in peace. You can read his full obituary here.

Digital Extremes is also releasing a new t-shirt in his honor, including the first sketch of the Lotus symbol and Tenno logo from back when the game would have been called something different.

Digital Extremes also celebrated that they have already raised over $122,000 dollars for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, in the Quest to Conquer Cancer and the proceeds from this new t-shirt will go to a very important cause.

Xaku Prime Comes to Warframe on November 13th

Moving forward in the stream, they revealed that the next prime warframe to come to the game is Xaku Prime. Coming with them are the Trumna Prime, and Quassus Prime.

They will also be coming with a new prime syandana and an amazingly designed Tenno outfit. Pricing for the Prime Access will be like similar releases:

  • Prime Access for Xaku, Trumna, and Quassus Prime will be $79.99 USD.
  • Xaku Prime Accessories will be $59.99 USD.
  • Combined pack will be $139.99 USD.

From here they moved onto the Technocyte Coda, the Infested Lich system coming in Warframe: 1999.

Technocyte Coda Details

The Technocyte Coda will be the infested faction for Warframe’s nemesis-like system. But there will be a lot of cool twists instead of a direct copy and paste job. For starters, you will have to kill infested enemies in Warframe: 1999 content, and after you see a unique item drop, you are to bring it a virus riddled PC and complete a mini game to start the process. You will be given one of the Coda to track down and kill, but you will be shown a unique cosmetic reward ahead of time. The Coda will not drop a unique weapon as when you kill your Coda you will be given a special resource to trade in for the weapon of your choice.

This resource will be given to one of the Hex members, the new syndicate in Warframe: 1999, in exchange for whichever weapon they will have in their stock. There will be a rotation to the stock similar to Ergo Glast’s Sister of Parvos weapon offerings. But killing the Coda will still be similar to the original Lich system. Where you have to use specific mods to trigger the final showdown in railjack and take it out for good.

The Technocyte Coda will come with 13 new weapons overall. Including upgraded variants for:

  • Hema.
  • Sporothrix.
  • Synapse.
  • Catabolyst.
  • Pox.
  • Tysis.
  • Caustacyst.
  • Hirudo.
  • Mire.
  • And Pathocyst.

The final three remain a secret at this time. They then followed this up with some more direct details for Warframe: 1999.

Warframe: 1999 Release Month and More Details Revealed

For starters, they confirmed that Warframe: 1999 will be launching this December. Considering the similar release cadence to Whispers in the Walls, one can predict that it will launch on December 11th or the 18th considering Digital Extremes releases their big content updates on Wednesdays. You will need to finish The Lotus Eaters before you can play it, and there will be a brand-new mission type called “Endless Capture”. Where you will have to hunt down and capture a boss that keeps evolving and slipping from your grasp.

They also confirmed Hollvania will not be an open world. It will use procedural generated tilesets and the environment will change with the seasons. They confirmed the seasons will be akin to spring, summer, fall and winter with different enemy offerings.

They are also touching up some old, infested foes to work them in better into Warframe: 1999. Such as the infested runner that will now leap up and start its detonation before landing near you. As well as the infested ancient doing sweeping melee attacks. But there will be new infested foes coming with these reworked ones. Such as a four-legged beast-like enemy that can leap into the air and shoot projectiles at you.

Finally, they confirmed that the next Devstream will be focused on a breakdown of the Scaldra faction. As well as a deep dive into Cyte-09 the next warframe. But they also talked about some cool new cosmetics, and some mini games coming to the Hollvania Central Mall, the player hub.

New Mini Games, Cosmetics and Trinity Rework Details

For starters there will be three new Drifter cosmetics coming to the game. One to match an athletic look, and ones for the goth and military types. The atomicyle will be getting an estimated 11 skins, including a classic motorcycle and sci-fi tenno themed one. They did also mention they were going to improve handling of the atomicycle thanks to feedback from the Warframe: 1999 demo.

From here they also confirmed a new Contra-like mini game called Caliber Chick’s 2. As well as Ollie’s Crash Course, which will see the return of James Conlin, who made his voice acting debut during the Warframe: 1999 demo from TennoCon 2024, getting to offer his voice for another fun mini game in a post-launch update.

Finally, they went over the rework for Trinity:

  • Her passive now gives extra health to players based on her max energy pool.
  • Well of Life can now affect 3 different enemies, can be cast while moving and have more base duration. But allies within her Well’s radius can be revived from it.
  • Energy Vampire will now have more duration, can be cast while moving and more energy pulses are earned from stacking in duration.
  • Link will now be able to be casted at will to refresh the duration, have more duration and link more foes depending on your power strength.
  • Blessing’s damage reduction persists through multiple recasts and will have more duration.

Trinity’s augments will also be getting a buff, and they demoed her Gemini skin and confirmed that Gemini skin’s will have separate colorable hair.

To wrap this up, they also confirmed there will be a Warframe: 1999 comic launching in November. This will give backstory on the Hex, and you can buy a display in Warframe right now for 1 credit.
