Today, Digital Extremes hosted a double feature for live streams regarding both of their games. The first was for Soulframe. This devstream was focused on some important announcements, as well as some upcoming content, new enemies, and much more. Here is everything they talked about in the Devstream today!

Soulframe Open Preludes Launch has been Delayed

To rip the band-aid off early, they confirmed that the open Preludes launch for Soulframe is being delayed into early next year. Originally, at TennoCon this July, it was slated for the fall but there is a good reason for this delay. Currently, important key members working on the game are being pulled to help with the launch of Warframe: 1999. They only confirmed that the delay will only be until early next year. What month it will launch in is currently unknown.

They have confirmed, however, that players in the Preludes will soon be able to send out invitations to other players. But beware that if you do receive this invitation, you will still have to adhere to the non-disclosure agreement those same players agreed to.

Afterwards they delved deep into changes and new content coming to Soulframe, including info on Preludes versions 7 and 8.

Preludes 7 Details

One of the earliest bits of information about Preludes 7 they showed was that Ode hounds can no longer be killed. You will instead break the harness and set them free during combat. They also confirmed that 5 new weapons will be coming to the game and revealed concept art for them. The list includes a new longsword, dagger, halberd and bow. Going alongside these weapons will be a streamlining of the stagger system, allowing you to perform finishers on foes easier.

One of the coolest things they showed coming with Preludes 7 is the new Martial Arts system. This will be a dedicated skill tree for all weapon types, similar to the Focus system in Warframe. They also reworked how every Pacts abilities and enchanted weapons will perform. Every ability will now function on a cooldown but be more powerful to compensate for the lack of reusability on the fly. Every enchanted weapon, such as the Fey’s bow will now be worked into the casting for each ability as well.

Finally, they showed off how players will unlock Ancestors. They demonstrated that with Tuvalkane the blacksmith, you will now find an item and have to carry it to her shrine to unlock her for your nightfold. There will also be rank up stories for Tuvalkanes reputation. This may work similar to the other ancestors, such as Verminia the potions ancestor.

Preludes 7 for Soulframe is coming next week. But before they ended the stream they talked about some stuff regarding Preludes 8.

Preludes 8 Details for Soulframe

In Preludes 8, they talked about upcoming quests, such as one dedicated to Orengall and how you save her to unlock her to use in combat. She will be used as a mount in later Preludes versions, but in Preludes you will finally have a quest to save her from the Ode. They also showed off the lair for the next Omen beast, Bromeus the Bear and gave a brief overview of his story. Before they started to wrap up the stream, they did also confirm that there will be social spaces for Envoys. Such as an in-game relay belonging to the resistance.

But the final thing they showed off for Preludes 8 is the new Corrupted Medicant enemy. They will be a new Ode foe that works with the pollution that the Ode spreads across the land.

Last but certainly not least, they teased at something that may come with founder’s packs in the game. They talked about the “Primeval Envoys” and did not give anything away aside from the fact that a certain aspect of them will be tied to the founder’s pack. More details will be coming in a later Devstream.

But this was all they talked about in Devstream 2 for Soulframe. If you would like to watch the full devstream for any minute details and breathtaking real time gameplay, you can so here.
