Warframe: 1999 Launches Tomorrow
Warframe: 1999 is confirmed to be launching tomorrow, and it is going to be a massive free expansion for Warframe. With a new zone, cinematic story quest, a massive cast of new characters, and a new warframe. But there is so much more to this update than meets the eye as detailed in the recently released trailer at The Game Awards. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming free expansion for Warframe.
What you Need to Know About Warframe: 1999
Warframe: 1999 is going to be a direct follow-up to Whispers in the Walls, and subsequently, The Lotus Eaters. Where you will be going back to the year 1999 to continue your hunt for Doctor Albrecht Entrati to discover more about his involvement with The Indifference. Who seemingly caused the Y2K catastrophe in the Warframe universe. You will be teamed up with the Hex, a group of 6 proto warframes who are also hunting Entrati due to what he had done to them. As shown in the recently released comic.
Warframe: 1999 will come with two new weapons, a bundle of new cosmetics called Gemini Skins which will allow you to switch from your normal warframe, into its proto frame equivelant with a custom emote as you can see below.
You will also be able to take on new activities, such as a new PvEvP game mode called Face Off, which pins you against another group of Tenno in a race against time for cool new rewards. As well as a new endless capture game mode that we know little about. You can also farm out the new Cyte-09 stealth sniper warframe, and engage in a new romance system with the Hex members.
Warframe: 1999 will be launching tomorrow, on December 13th and will be a free update for Warframe. You will have to play The Lotus Eaters, and The Duviri Paradox before you can play in this new expansion.
