During TennoCon 2024, Lords of Gaming appeared at the event to cover it live, from Soulframe to Warframe. But early in the morning before the event opened to thousands of Tenno from around the world, Digital Extremes allowed us to sit down and talk with the one and only Kevin Lim whose history in the voice acting and presentation realms extends nearly two decades. From a big debut with Disney, to playing the showman for The Duviri Paradox and helping make a wish come true, here is our exclusive on-site interview with Kevin Lim!
From Humble Beginnings, to Paying it Forward with a Wish
Sitting down with Kevin, I was treated to quite the extensive look into his history, and what he’s up to today. I started by asking about his journey into voice acting and he began with morning radio and television, and that opened the door to many roles he was given over the course of his career. Not just with commercials for various different companies, like Best Buy, or Finish. But for major events in Club Penguin, which was acquired by Disney in 2007 and sadly shut down ten years later. But being given this opportunity from Disney, he went on to voice many different characters and work with various big publishers. Such as voicing Navi and RDA characters in Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, being Odin in IGG’s Mythic Heroes, and even lending his voice to HoYoverse for the Moonlit Bamboo Forest trailer.
But the one role that fans of Digital Extremes marque title Warframe will know Kevin for is being Bombastine, the Dragon of Envy in The Duviri Paradox. Where he found a lot of fulfillment working with the team that brought that character to life. Kevin also Emcee’s for live events and was able to help bring to life the in-game relay event, “The Amphitheatre” for TennoCon 2022, as well as being the main voice for the cinematic trailer for The Duviri Paradox. But he has not stopped at just this role for Warframe. He also presented the fictional boy band “On-lyne” in the opening lines for the recent gameplay reveal for Warframe: 1999.
In this interview Kevin said that when it comes to being a voice actor, being able to use his position to help create opportunities for others is something he honors in his role. And he was able to overdeliver on paying it forward when it came to working with the Make-a-Wish foundation in helping James Conlin, a boy with Spina bifida become a voice actor with his debut in Warframe: 1999. Kevin remarked on how quick Rebecca Ford, the Creative Director of the game agreed to helping James fulfill his dream.

James has been practicing as an actor, according to Kevin, as he has been taking classes 6 times a week, and it shined in his debut, as he plays the role of a prankster character whose voice is in one of the arcade machines in the Hollvanian Central Mall, the main player hub for the upcoming expansion. This role will allow everyone who plays it to hear his voice for years to come, as players new and old will frequent player hubs for weekly or daily content. To be in the same space alongside major actors, such as Ben Starr, and Alpha Takahashi is definitely a dream come true.
The Video Version of Our Exclusive Interview with Kevin Lim
Kevin was a very relaxed and kind person even before we sat down, as we had met previously and was ecstatic to meet on Sunday for TennoCon and the interview. Below will be our exclusive interview with him, and make sure to watch until the end, as Creative Director of Warframe Rebecca Ford, and Community Director Megan Everett walked by in the area and graced us with their presence:
Kevin Lim’s official website can be found here, and his X account be found here as well. Lords of Gaming was given a special honor with this interview, and a special thank you is in order for Digital Extremes and their Public Relations team, especially Tatum, who helped provide a space for the interview. This would otherwise not have been possible without their flexibility and willingness to help us.
Thank you for reading!

[…] During the TennoCon 2024, the gameplay demo for Warframe: 1999 had a brief moment of teasing an arcade game called Ollie’s Crash Course. What made this moment in the demo so special is the story behind the arcade game. The story behind how this came to be is heartwarming, and during TennoCon last year we were able to get the full story thanks to an interview with Kevin Lim, which can be found here. […]
