Most Anticipated Game of 2025

Video game enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement as 2025 promises a wave of groundbreaking titles. Winner – Avowed

As the Block Rock is Lord Cognito’s favorite Xbox studio, the studio’s consistency in quality is something that is truly to look forward to. We had the opportunity to try it out twice now, and both times mostly answered questions concerning the game. This mainly comes in the form of how the combat is going to feel and its impact and also includes magic abilities. Obsidian was very humble about the hub world, it’s closer to an open-world design than you think. These areas are massive. Obsidian’s writing is always top notch and their dedication to player agency is up there with the best in class. 

The preview opportunities were in fact so good, that Lord Cognito was immediately hooked and didn’t want to stop. That’s when I knew that the game had its hooks on him. February cannot come here sooner enough. 

Runner-Up – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an upcoming turn-based RPG that blends the visual flair of Final Fantasy with the combat and style of Atlus’ Persona series. First revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase this past summer, the game immediately captured our attention with its unique aesthetic and intriguing story. Developed by Sandfall Interactive, a French studio founded in 2020, the game draws heavy inspiration from France’s Belle Époque era, evident in its rich and elegant art direction. The game is brought to life by a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Jennifer English (Baldur’s Gate 3), Kirsty Rider (Sandman), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI), and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings).

The story follows a group of characters on a quest to break a never-ending cycle of torment at the hands of a mysterious being known as the Paintress. Combat combines turn-based mechanics with real-time elements like parrying and timed strikes, offering something fresh and stylish. Each new glimpse of the game looks better and better, and as avid RPG fans at Lords of Gaming, we’re eagerly anticipating Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which looks to be one of the standout titles of 2025.
