Forza Horizon 5 Comes to PlayStation 5 in Spring 2025
Playground Games announced that Forza Horizon 5 will be coming to the PlayStation 5 this Spring.
This joins other releases from Xbox, such as Sea of Thieves, Grounded and Hi-Fi Rush going multiplatform since Early 2024, alongside titles like Doom: The Dark Ages coming to other platforms in 2025.

The Horizon Festival Welcomes a New Community of Players
PlayStation 5 players will be able to explore Mexico’s beautiful roads and experience the Horizon Festival for the first time as we are officially launching Forza Horizon 5 on PS5.
Developed in collaboration with Panic Button, Turn 10, and Playground Games, the PlayStation 5 version will release with all the content currently out on Xbox and PC platforms.
Cross-Play and Future Updates
In addition, Playground Games have stated the following regarding a new mode coming to all platforms for Forza Horizon 5.
In addition to bringing Forza Horizon 5 to PS5, we’re working on a special new free content update for all platforms, Horizon Realms. Realms will give players the chance to explore a curated collection of some of the community’s favorite previously released Evolving Worlds, alongside some other surprises. Stay tuned to our channels for more details soon.
Alongside this new mode, Cross-Play support will be accessable on PlayStation 5 as well.
Future of Xbox’s Multi-Platform Push
While it’s exciting to see the legendary racing franchise find another home on PlayStation, this announcement wasn’t that surprising. Many rumors surrounding this iteration of the series coming to PlayStation 5 have come out since Fall 2024.
This joins games like Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Hellblade 2, and Flight Simulator 2024 coming to PlayStation and Switch 2, according to insiders. Those games, alongside Bethesda’s line up potentially coming to Switch 2, suggest that Forza Horizon 5 is just the begining of Microsoft’s multi-platform push in 2025.
Closing Thoughts
As someone who greatly enjoyed Forza Horizon series, I’m happy to see the life of this great open-world racer will continue well into 2025 and beyond. Following the prior installment being delisted, the latest release in the Forza Horizon series coming to PlayStation 5 and potentially Switch 2, extends those music and car rights.
By how long? No one knows but Microsoft themselves. But at the very least, gamers can enjoy this great acade racer for a little while longer.
