With this information, we know the overall length and when it’s airing. But no hints or teases for what could be revealed. That doesn’t mean we don’t know some of the stuff that might show up.
Potential Reveals for PlayStation State of Play
There is a lot that could be in this State of Play, so let’s break it down.
Sony First Party
Starting with Sony’s own first party line up, a number of projects could be announced. We have reported on a Days Gone Remaster in the later half of 2024, with the same source suggesting a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster was on the way. Sure enough, that released in late 2024.

In addition, there have been rumblings on a God of War project, with it’s setting taking place in the Greek Era of the series timeline. I personally believe this might be the rumored collection containing the Greek-Era titles, though trusted insiders suggest it’s a brand new adventure.
Sony Second Party
Sony’s second party partnerships could also be present here. A release window for the PC release of Stellar Blade could be revealed, since Shift Up announced that PC version is on the way recently.
Other second party offerings could include updates on various China Hero Project’s like Lost Soul Aside getting updates and release windows.
Microsoft’s Third Party Push
Many third parties could show up at the event, but between this and the upcoming Nintendo Direct covering the Switch 2 launch, Microsoft is set for a big splash on other platforms.
Recent rumors suggest titles like Hellblade 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection are incoming in 2025.
These titles would join already announced ports like Forza Horizon 5 and Age of Mythology: Retold, in addition to upcoming day-and-date games like Doom: The Dark Ages and Outer Worlds 2.
Third Party Partners
Other third party partners are likely set to play a huge role during the State of Play.
Square Enix
Being one of Sony’s most loyal partners, they usually have announcements set for PlayStation events. While the long rumored Final Fantasy IX remake could be revealed, I think another major Square Enix series makes a long overdue appearance.
Major Kingdom Hearts insider TheGamersJoint has been reporting on Square Enix revealing more information about the series in 2025, either having their own showcase in February or being part of another one.

Considering it’s been a long time since we’ve seen Kingdom Hearts 4 since it’s April 2022 reveal, a gameplay trailer running on Unreal 5 would impress.
SEGA/Atlus
The Blue Blur is set to return on the PlayStation stage once more, with the upcoming Sonic Racing CrossRoads likely to get it’s full reveal at the State of Play. As of this writing, convincing leaks showing off in-game screenshots have surfaced online.

This happened with Sonic X Shadow Generations. Rumors suggested a reveal for a Sonic Generations remaster hours before the January 2024 State of Play, and the game received it’s first trailer during said event.
Capcom
One of the last major publishers I could see show up is Capcom. Hot off the heels of Mai coming to Street Fighter 6 and the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds, many wonder when the next Resident Evil will come out.

It has been a tradition that new games in the iconic horror series debut at State of Plays. And with rumors for Resident Evil 9 floating around throughout 2024, it’s about time we see a new Resident Evil.
