Even with the Nintendo Switch 2 on the way, the big N will support the original Switch, announcing new reveals at the most recent Nintendo Direct! Lords of Gaming rounds up all the exciting reveals!

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake – New Trailer

Nintendo and Square Enix showed off a new Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake trailer, a collection of iconic games from the Dragon Quest series.

Showing off new gameplay, it’s clear this collection closely aligns with the work done in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which was released in Fall 2024. The title will be released on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Switch platforms later this year.

No Sleep for Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES

Spike Chunsoft revealed that No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES, a new entry in the AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES series, will launch on Nintendo Switch and Steam in North America and Europe on July 25, 2025.

Following the original, it promises more surreal storytelling and a new ‘Escape’ mode, adding new layers to the investigation gameplay. You can learn more about this release here.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Souless Army – Reveal Trailer

Following successful remaster efforts for past SMT and Persona releases, Atlus returns with a new remaster. RAIDOU Remastered will offer improved visuals, gameplay tweaks, and more. RAIDOU Remastered will release on PlayStation, Switch, PC, and Xbox platforms on June 19th, 2025.

In celebration of this reveal, Atlus released a video breaking down all the changes to the title.

Shadow Labyrinth – New Trailer

This dark twist on the iconic Pac-Man series makes another appearance at the Nintendo Direct with a new trailer. Showing off more new gameplay mechanics, with the player character working with mechs and ‘Puck, ‘ this Metroidvania adventure is set to surprise when it launches on all platforms on July 18th.

Patapon 1 + 2 Replay – Reveal Trailer

One of the biggest surprises at the Nintendo Direct, the Studio Japan classic Patapon returns! The Patapon 1+2 Replay collection will remaster the original two Patapon titles for Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation platforms on July 11, 2025.

The remaster offers some quality of life additions to the experience, including a list of ‘commands’ at the bottom of the screen for players to order their Patapons and various input-latency options.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar – Reveal Trailer

A new installment in the Story of Seaons series, Grand Bazaar, is coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam (PC) on August 27th, 2025.

As taken from the official Nintendo website, the following was shared about this new release;

Build your farm in Zephyr Town and breathe new life into the once-famous bazaar. Set up your stall to sell produce and goods from the crops and animals you raise on your farm, and meet charming townsfolk to befriend and romance as you help the close-knit community thrive.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – New Trailer

A new trailer for the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was revealed. Bounty Hunter Samus, warped to a new planet, uses new physic powers to fight through dangerous battles and learn about her role as ‘the chosen one. ‘ No date was given, but the game is still slated for a 2025 release.

Disney Villians Cursed Cafe – Reveal Trailer & Shadowdrop Release

Disney revealed at this latest Nintendo Direct a new Disney experience for fans to enjoy. Mixing potions and engaging with iconic Disney villains, players can play Villians Cursed Cafe today on Nintendo Switch.

Witchbook – Reveal Trailer

Witchbrook from Chucklefish and Robotality was part of the Nintendo Direct. The spell-bounding life sim is releasing on Switch, Xbox, and PC platforms in Winter 2025.

Eternal Life of Goldman – New Trailer & Release Window Revealed

THQ Nordic showed up at the Nintendo Direct with a new trailer for the hand-drawn adventure The Eternal Life of Goldman. The trailer revealed how Goldman could customize his cane to overcome major platforming challenges and combat encounters. The title will be released on all platforms this Holiday season.

Graidus Origins – Reveal Trailer

Komani revealed at the Nintendo Direct Gradius Origins, a collection containing six iconic arcade shooters, including a new installment in the SALAMANDER franchise. This collection will be released on all platforms on August 7th, 2025.

Rift of the NecroDancer – Switch Version Shadowdrop & DLC Plans Revealed

Rift of the Necrodancer jams onto the Nintendo Switch! Following its PC release, the musical adventure was released on Switch with all the content currently on PC. In addition, DLC was revealed, showing off music from games like Pizza Tower coming to the title through DLC in the future.

Tamagotchi Plaza – Reveal Trailer

The next entry in the beloved shop simulator series comes to the Nintendo Switch on June 27th!

Pokemon Legends Z-A – New Trailer & Release Window Revealed

Following its re-reveal at the latest Pokemon Presents, Pokemon Legneds Z-A received a new trailer. The trailer showed off the game’s dynamic systems, where Pokemon trainers catch pocket monsters during the day and fight rival trainers during nightly encounters. The game is still slated for 2025, having a ‘Late 2025’ release window.

Rhythm Heaven Grove – Reveal Trailer

Nintendo revealed the return of the fan-favorite Rhythm Heaven series, Rhythm Heaven Groove, releasing on Nintendo Switch in 2026.

Virtual Game Card – Feature Reveal

Nintendo revealed a new feature coming to the Nintendo Switch, the ‘Virtural Game Card’. This feature lets players share digital copies of games on family accounts bought from the E-Shop. It will be part of a Software Update releasing in Late April 2025.

High on Life – Switch Version Reveal

The comedy-centric FPS High on Life from Squanch Games is releasing on Nintendo Switch on May 6th, 2025. Lords of Gaming’s own Cerebral Paul said the following about the reveal;

Star Overdrive – Release Date Trailer

Star Overdrive, a board-shreeding space adventure, received a new trailer at the Nintendo Direct. Releasing on both Switch and Steam on April 10th, 2025, Nintendo describes the game with the following;

Race across an alien planet in a high-speed action-adventure. Glide on your Hoverboard, mastering gravity-defying tricks, battling powerful enemies, and solving puzzles. Use your unique powers to overcome challenges, unravel mysteries, and shape your destiny!

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time – New Trailer

Level-5’s Fantasy Life series returns with a new adventure! Releasing on Nintendo Switch on May 21st, 2025, players can explore a vast world, explore dangerous dungeons, and build amazing homes for themselves.

Everyone’s Golf Hot Shots – Reveal Trailer

Another Studio Japan surprise appeared at the Nintendo Direct. Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots, revealed by Bandai-Namco, is releasing on Switch, PlayStation platforms, and PC in 2025. Featuring mechanics old and new, this new release in the Hot Shots/Everybody’s Golf series marks a grand return for this dormant Sony franchise.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion – Reveal Trailer

Iconic Marvel heroes and villains team up in Marvel Cosmic Invasion. This beat ’em up from the legendary teams behind TMNT Shredders Revenge; the arcade spirit lives on in this four-player experience. It will be released on all platforms sometime in 2025.

Tomodatchi Life: Living the Dream – Reveal Trailer

This sequel to the beloved 3DS release Tomodachi Life is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2026. Lords of Gaming’s own Don Otaku said the following about this exciting announcement;

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a delightful surprise, bringing back a quirky favorite with an island twist and leveled-up Miis. It’s a modest evolution that still feels true to the original’s charm, and as it stands, this is now my most anticipated game of 2026.
