PAX East 2020 Interview: Fort Triumph is X-Com Meets Fantasy
There is no doubt that X-Com has been a big influence on the strategy gaming genre. Not many games have taken as a unique spin on this genre as Fort Triumph from Cookiebyte Entertainment. Combining beautiful fantasy worlds in their own custom game engine (UPDATE: The game is actually being programmed in Unity). The game combines traditional tactical gameplay with a heavy focus on environmental destruction and interactivity. Featuring procedurally generated maps, no encounter feels the same! As an added plus the original music in the game is created by Marco Valerio Antonini. Who you may know for his amazing work on Star Wars: Battlefront II.
Our very own Lord Cognito got the opportunity to sit down with a few of the developers and get a first-hand look at Fort Triumph. While also picking their brains on what their overall goal was to make such an ambitious title.
