Xbox Game Pass Comes To Japan On April 14th
Xbox Game Pass has been a game-changer for Xbox as a brand. Not only in how they market and sell their games but in changing peoples buying and playing habits in the ecosystem. It’s hard to imagine owning an Xbox One, and not having access to Xbox Game Pass or Ultimate. However, this was not possible for Xbox gamers in Japan. While it has been quite well documented that the Xbox One has done poorly in the Asian market. This has not seemed to stop Xbox from continuing to push forward in the region. Announced in a blog post today, on April 14th Xbox Game Pass will officially be coming to Japan. This is a small step forward for the company, as it continues to try to make a dent in the Asian market that has long been a struggle for the company.
The Price and Date
The service will officially be available on April 14th, 2020. The price in Japan for the service will be as follows.
- Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) ¥ 425
- Xbox Game Pass for Console ¥ 850
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (Xbox, PC and Gold) ¥ 1,100
The games that will be available on the service range from action-packed games such as Devil May Cry V. To charming Indie games like Untitled Goose Game, and Hollow Knight. With even some classic games such as Ninja Gaiden 2, and Banjo Kazooie.

It is important to note staple Xbox franchises such as Halo, Minecraft, Gears, and Ori will be available as part of Game Pass at launch in Japan. As well as all Xbox Game Studios games will be available day one at launch for Xbox Game Pass Japan subscribers. This includes the upcoming Minecraft Dungeons and Gears: Tactics.
