Microsoft announced a huge get today during their Inside Xbox Series X event. PlayStation staple Yakuza is not only coming to Xbox and PC platforms this year. Sega is bringing Yakuza: Like A Dragon to Xbox Series X as a launch title. Yakuza: Like A Dragon, is the 11th Yakuza title in the series however, it will be a fresh start. This will be a great jumping-on point for newcomers to the series as the game is considered a reboot to the franchise.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon was released in February on the PS4 in Asian markets under the name Ru ga Gotoku 7. Ru ga Gotoku translates to “Like A Dragon.” The series has never been called Yakuza in Asia. So this is technically Yakuza 7 in the west. Sega has opted to drop the numbered format for a fresh start. It features a new protagonist, new RPG mechanics, and insane cinematics. A translated version was scheduled to be released this year. It appears now we will find out its exact release date when the Xbox Series X launches this holiday.
