It was only a matter of time before all the Summer movies were pushed back. Wonder Woman 1984, Matrix 4, and Tenet are the latest movies to get movies back. I feel some of these movies might be better as a digital release.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still causing financial problems for theaters around the world, movies are being held on to for a better day. Tenet is only being pushed back to July 31st of this year, this could be the first of many date changes for this movie. It was supposed to be the movie that brought theaters back from the pandemic. Another huge Summer movie was pushed back into October. Wonder Woman 1984 has been moved four times now. This film will be playing in theaters or digital on October 2nd. Matrix 4 now joins John Wick 4 as it has moved to 2022. These two Keanu Reeves films will be battling in the same year again.
One movie seems to be taking advantage of all these date changes. Bill and Teds Face the Music is being pushed up to August 14th, the date Wonder Woman 1984 had. Fans of the most recent Godzilla films will have to wait a little longer for the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong. It will be moving from its November 20th date to the Matrix 4 date of May 21st, 2021. With every movie shifting hopefully, another will take its place or those movies might get pushed back to a closer release date. This really depends on what’s happening around the world.
