Ubisoft is Working on a new Star Wars Game
After the news yesterday that Lucasfilm Games is working with Bethesda to create an Indiana Jones game. It came as a huge surprise to see this news today that Ubisoft’s studio Massive Entertainment will be creating a new open-world story-driven Star Wars game.
If you are thinking that EA is the only studio in the world of Star Wars games, you are wrong. In fact, it looks like more studios will be making games in the future. If your a fan of what EA has done, don’t stress the studio will continue to work with Lucasfilm Games.
Massive Entertainment is Ubisoft’s studio located in Malmö, Sweden. They have worked on The Division series, Far Cry 3, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Douglas Reilly, VP of Lucasfilm Games had this to say about working with Massive Entertainment.
“We’re really excited about an opportunity to work with the team at Massive, led by David Polfeldt and the creative director, Julian Gerighty. We’ve spent almost a year now, working to get to know them and what they want to bring to the table. I’m a huge fan of them, personally. I think we’re really excited about where that project is going because they have a unique vision for the story and the game they want to deliver.”
While this is just an announcement it does bring some excitement to gamers around the world. Star Wars has always had a place in the world of gaming. It would be nice to see something like The Division set in that universe. This shouldn’t be the last announcement we hear from Lucasfilm Games. I expect to see more studios jumping into the mix.
