Lady Dimitrescu’s Height is Officially Revealed
Capcom knows how to lean into public discourse. After massive fan adoration for Resident Evil: Village’s Lady Dimitrescu, Capcom confirmed her height.
On Monday night, the official Resident Evil Twitter handle tweeted a message from RE:8’s Art Director, Tomonori Takano:

Takano wrote “Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters have received a fair amount of attention, far more than we anticipated…Lady Dimitrescu, especially, has received much fanfare both domestically and overseas, which has made all of us in the development team extremely happy. I hear her height is something of interest…If you include her hat and high heels, she’s 2.9m (approximately 9’6″) tall.“
The internet lost it as memes and jokes aired almost immediately. Lady Dimitrescu first appeared in the reveal trailer last June, but the fan obsession started last month. Despite the original trailer’s clear focus on her, fans didn’t realize how tall she was at first. Lady Dimitrescu’s height gained attention because a sneak peek for the Resident Evil: Village Showcase showed her crouching through doors to walk through. At first, she was referred to as “Tall Lady” online, and starred in numerous fan arts.
Capcom’s fun fact came after the sad news of one of the game’s actresses, Jeannette Maus, died at 39. Maus lost her battle with colon cancer after also fighting COVID-19 and Crohn’s disease.
Now that fans know Lady Dimitrescu’s height, the final wait begins. Resident Evil: Village releases on May 7th, but a Visual Showcase demo is available for PS5 owners right now for the impatient.
