Iron Harvest was an exceptional RTS game from King Art Games that was released back in 2020. Since its launch, the game has received several fantastic updates, as well as a massive expansion that brought a whole new faction and aerial warfare to the game. While Iron Harvest has been available exclusively on PC, whether through Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG it currently is not on console. However, that looks to be changing as a new trailer teases an Iron Harvest console port.

Today, in a new tease by developer King Art Games it appears a console port of Iron Harvest is well on its way. A new short trailer uploaded to their Youtube channel teases some new footage showing how the game will respond to controller input. The trailer showcases how the many different commands that you use throughout Iron Harvest will be completed in a gamepad format. This is often one of the most challenging parts of porting an RTS game to a console, as gamepads have significantly fewer input buttons than a keyboard.

There were also some new announcements that console adopters will be able to look forward to. The game will be getting next-generation console ports while Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are available. If you have been lucky enough to pick up an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 you will be able to experience Iron Harvest in all its mech glory. Iron Harvest console versions will contain all post-launch content as well, this means console players will have access to the Operation Eagle expansion at launch. Alongside all the other updated free maps, modes, and of course all the great single-player campaigns in the game.

While there currently isn’t an official release date for the console port, the developers did disclose that they are shooting to have the ports released near the end of 2021. That was only if the ports met the studio’s strict standards, and it was stated that the last generation ports of the game were providing a unique challenge for the studio. We will certainly be monitoring the console ports of Iron Harvest and look forward to getting hands-on with the game in the future.
