Don’t Miss Suzume No Tojimari

Suzume No Tojimari is an upcoming film from Makoto Shinkai. He directed the smash-hit anime film Your Name among many others. Such as 5 Centimeters Per Second and more recently Weathering With You. All of his films have very positive receptions from critics and audiences alike.

With Weathering With You being his more recent film from 2020, his next film could be coming as soon as next year.

What Is Suzume No Tojimari?

First, let us start with the name. Suzume No Tojimari unfortunately does not have an official English translation. So I’m using its official name as opposed to a lot of the unofficial translations. All of Shinkai’s films have included some dynamic between a boy and a girl. Seeing as he focuses mostly on romance-driven stories.

The synopsis for the film from its IMDB is:

A modern action adventure road story where a 17-year-old girl named Suzume helps a mysterious young man close doors from the outer side that are releasing disasters all over in Japan.

The release date at the end of the trailer is 11/11/2022, but only in Japan on that day. However, if you’re not willing to learn a second language and take a trip overseas. You could always wait about six more months after that day if you’re in the united states like me.

As Weathering With You was released in Japan on July 19th, 2019, then released in the US on January 17th, 2020. It was released in other countries like India on an earlier date as well. So take a look at the release date for that film in your region and apply a similar difference to Suzume’s release date.

If you’re a fan of anime films or anime in general. Definitely keep your eye on Suzume No Tojimari, it should be just as great of a time as Shinkai’s previous films.
