Starfield Is Likely To Launch In The First Half Of 2023

To say one of the biggest games of 2023 is Starfield feels something like an understatement. Not only does it mark one of the big games for Xbox Game Studios, but it also marks the first big single-player RPG from Bethesda since the release of Fallout 4 in 2015. Fallout 4 remains one of the biggest releases in video game history shipping a massive 12 million copies on launch day. This is why the delay of Starfield hurt Xbox’s 2022 in a big way. Many people have been curious as to when we will be able to get our hands on this ambitious space RPG. It appears that Bethesda is starting to prepare for the launch of this title, pointing to a launch in the first half of this year.

As discovered by well-known Xbox reporter Klobrille, a new support page for Starfield launched late yesterday. While this necessarily isn’t the biggest deal or leak, it does provide some interesting tidbits. Often when studios create support pages that means they are likely gearing up to start taking pre-orders for the game. The release date is further cemented within the FAQ of this support page. By clicking on “What Is Starfield’s release date?” it indicates the game is still set to release in the first half of 2023.

This provides reassurance that this game is still on track to deliver what was originally promised when the title was delayed. Many rumors have pointed to a June release date, from sources I have contacted. It appears that an internal target for Starfield is certainly June, with the title progressing well since its delay in 2022. Fingers crossed this all comes together and Bethesda knocks it out of the park with another great RPG. Maybe we will get to see more of it soon at the rumored Xbox Showcase that is reportedly happening this Spring. Only time will tell.
