Octopath Traveler 2: How To Get Your Boat
One of the biggest new features to be added in Octopath Traveler 2 was the boat. Allowing for open-sea exploration to reach new and exciting locations. But considering how the game is very hands-off in showing the player how to do or get certain things. A big question on every player’s mind will obviously be simple. Where do I get this boat and how?
Where to get the Boat in Octopath Traveler 2
The answer is simple but you will need three things before you are able to get it:
- Get Partitio, the Merchant.
- Get to level 18+ to survive enemy encounters getting there, and access to the region of Ochette’s origins.
- Bring with you a small sum of one hundred thousand leaves.
After finishing his first chapter. You will gain access to side objectives named “Scent of Commerce”. When you arrive in Tropu’hopu, simply go all the way to the right of the village. After arriving, you will see an angry customer and a merchant trying to sell the ship. Just follow the Partitio marker on your mini-map to talk to the person who sells the ship. Afterward, you will finally have your personal boat to explore the world to your heart’s content.
How to get more leaves is simple. In typical JRPG fashion, you just have to grind out enemies or run around villages stealing stuff to sell from villagers, or a mix of both. But I hope this guide helps you along in your journey in Octopath Traveler 2!
Update 2/28/2023
When acquiring your ship. Do make sure that you are at least level 34 before setting sail. You can acquire the ship very early but until you reach that threshold. It will be sitting around until character stories require you to use it.
