Xbox Showcase 2023: Jusant Reveal
The last few months have been a rollercoaster ride for the Xbox platform. Everything from the CMA blocking the Activision Blizzard deal, to some questioning Xbox leadership after the Redfall debacle, to the EU breathing life again into the ABK acquisition after approving it. Needless to say, if you’re an Xbox fan, recent times were turbulent to put it lightly. But now, we are in the midst of the much-beloved summer gaming convention season.
To say this year’s Xbox showcase is highly anticipated is an understatement. Fans are through the roof with hype and anticipation. This year’s Xbox Showcase promises to deliver to fans what they’ve been longing for, quality first-party games. Best of all, the Showcase is already confirmed that it will not feature any full CGI trailers. During the Xbox Showcase, fans got a glimpse of Jusant, a new game from Don’t Nod.
Jusant Gives Xbox a Climbing Game
Jusant features a adolescent young man scaling huge cliffs. At first glance, this game looks like a specialized wall-climbing game. That’s a fair assessment. These climbs feature additional platforming challenges such as timing jumps with the wind, activating certain climbing paths, and more.
Additionally, these walls seemed much more than the same cliff over and over again. Some cliffs were set in the desert, but others had notable foliage across them. One even had vines that the player rode on as they grew upwards.
Don’t Nod made their name with the Life is Strange series. Life is Strange is a choice-driven narrative game about a graduating high school senior and her relationships throughout. They’ve also worked on Tell Me Why, a story about two siblings, one of which is a transgender man.
Jusant releases later this fall.
