Despite its rough edges, Atlas Fallen was well received here at Lords of Gaming. However, there can be a lot to take in at first. But don’t worry, here are 12 Atlas Fallen tips to help elevate your game.

Atlas Fallen Tips – Adjust Your Graphics Settings

Atlas Fallen Graphic Options Menu

This is one of the more personal Atlas Fallen tips, but since the game provides graphical options use them! I personally turn off motion blur, chromatic aberration, lens fair, and depth of field as I find them to distort the image too much to my liking. With those options turned off or reduced, you get a nice cleaner image.

Look and Listen to Tells During Combat

One of the most foundational Atlas Fallen tips you can take away from here is looking for tells during combat. When wraiths glow red, it means that the attack can be parried via your sandskin. While a blue highlight means that it is unparryable so you’ll have to dodge out of the way. Also, be sure to listen to wraiths as well, they will give off a noticeable shriek right before attacking. Use these tells to your advantage.

Atlas Fallen Tips – Listen to Nyaal

When you’re sand skirting around, be sure to listen to Nyaal. He will give you some insights into your surroundings. This includes revealing nearby anvils and vendors.

Kites in the Sky Means There’s a Vendor Nearby

If you see a kite flying around in the sky, follow its rope and you’ll find a vendor. If you lose your bearing when trying to follow the rope, always look back at the kite and start again.

Look for Exclamation Points when Selling to Vendors

Different vendors seek different items. Sometimes, they’ll offer you more Tribute for certain items. These items will be noted with an exclamation point. So, be sure to take advantage of this and net some extra Tribute!

Atlas Fallen Tips – Target Red Body Parts

One of the most fundamental Atlas Fallen tips to take away involves larger wraiths. When dealing with larger wraiths, be sure to target red body parts first. Those body parts aren’t armored and can be destroyed faster as opposed to the tan body parts, which are armored.

Be on the Lookout for Glowing Areas on the Ground

Another one of the more simple, but useful, Atlas Fallen tips involves keeping your eye peeled when you’re out and about. If you see the ground glowing be sure to head over there and raise it. You never know what treasure, useful platform, or anvil could be there. Make it a habit and you’ll be rewarded for your exploration.

Atlas Fallen Tips – Level Up Perks Multiple Times

If there’s a particular perk that you find useful, be sure to check if it can be upgraded. Most perks can be upgraded up to 3 times. You head over to the perk description to find out.

Be Warned of the Shellbasher at the Mines

Early on in the game, you’ll unlock a side quest that tasks you with dealing with wraiths near a mine. Be warned, there will be a Shellbuster there and it is incredibly challenging at first. If you want to deal with the frustrating crustation, be sure to check out our tips on how to deal with Shellbasher. Otherwise, save yourself some grief and ignore it for a while then head back when you leveled up your power level.

Atlas Fallen Tips – Use Anvils to Travel Between Zones

Atlas Fallen is a zonal open-world system. This means that there are multiple large zones that players can explore. If you want to travel to any previously visited zone, use anvils and go to the select map option to change to the zone.

Pay Attention to Armour Bonuses

Most armor sets have bonuses for equipping a certain number of essence stone types. So, be sure to check back to the armor menu to see if those armor bonuses are activated after tweaking your essence stone set up.

Ignore the Shattering Fortune Essence Stone

Seriously, it doesn’t provide any benefit. It only provides additional loot after fights. But by the time you’re mid-way through the game, you’ll be drowning in loot and essence stones. So, best to avoid it and save the essence stone slot for something more useful.
