PlatinumGames has suddenly announced via X (formerly Twitter) that Hideki Kamiya is slated to leave the studio in October.

October 12, 2023, is slated to be the last day Kamiya is to work at PlatiniumGames. He was one of the co-founders of the studio back in August 2006. 

He was involved in numerous hit titles and franchises. This includes legendary franchises such as Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, The Wonderful 101, and Bayonetta

Kamiya did take to X/Twitter to comment on his departure. More specifically, the iconic developer said he plans to continue to develop games in the “Hideki Kamiya way”. However, no additional details were provided.

Kamiya was infamous for having a reputation for mass-blocking X/Twitter users. Undoubtedly, his contributions to the medium cannot be understated, and remains a legend within the industry.
